CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER/EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Yvette Johnson Hagins, CEO & Executive Director of Whitefoord, has led the organization for the past decade and provided invaluable oversight and direction in fulfilling its mission. Under her guidance, Whitefoord launched a five year strategic plan and organized its first Annual Campaign.
During her tenure, Yvette has restructured programs to enhance efficiency and seamless service delivery systems, expanded and diversified Whitefoord’s revenue sources, and strengthened the Board of Directors through community engagement.
Prior to joining Whitefoord, Yvette held key positions including Chief Executive Officer of non-profit community-based organizations serving children and families for the past 25 years. She previously served as the Chief Executive Director of Greenbriar Children’s Center, Inc. in Savannah Georgia for 13 years. Under her leadership, Greenbriar became the highest United Way designated agency in the community and one of only two United Way organizations to receive national accreditation. She has also served as the Georgia Director for Save the Children Federation in Atlanta and was a State Coordinator for Georgia Legal Services. READ MORE...
CHIEF FINANCE / OPERATIONS OFFICER
Michael Bekele, CFO & COO came to Whitefoord from a corporate business experience. After joining the nonprofit world he was quick to embrace and became an ardent supporter of the mission of the organization. He says “Every day I apply my skills to do my work enthusiastically. Every day with great passion I team up with colleagues and supporters to achieve the organization’s mission. And every day I am happy about it.” Mr. Michael Bekele came to Whitefoord from a corporate business experience.
Michael has a combined experience of more than 15 years in Accounting, Finance, Business and Information Technology. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ethiopia and his Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation here in the United States. Since joining Whitefoord in 2005, he has established a solid foundation to the finance department by streamlining the budgeting process, formulating analytical reports, devising a system for timely and accurate submission of mandatory filings with regulatory agencies and having clean audits. He has a remarkable reputation for his stellar performance of Whitefoord’s finance functions from donors to auditors to board members and staff.
In his current position as CFO/COO, he oversees the organization’s Finance, Human Resources and Facilities functions.
Michael lives with his wife, Melkam and three wonderful children Kristian, Anna and Ava in Snellville, GA.
Dr. Karyl C. Patten, DDS, MPH has provided oral health to the underserved for more than twenty years. As Dental Director for Whitefoord, Inc., and Assistant Professor at Emory University School of Medicine, Dr. Patten has transformed the way we deliver public health dental care.
Dr. Patten is a graduate of Fisk University, Meharry Medical College and Emory University. She completed her residency in Hospital Dentistry at George W. Hubbard Hospital, Nashville, Tennessee and received public health training at Rollins School of Public Health and participated in Faculty Development program at Emory University.Under her leadership, Whitefoord, in partnership with Emory University developed a school-based dental program that provides full-service dentistry to underserved populations. The program trains dental students, dental hygiene students, and dental assisting students for challenging but rewarding careers assisting those with the greatest healthcare needs. Dr. Patten holds faculty positions at Georgia Regents School of Medicine and Dentistry, Emory University School of Medicine and serves as an advisor for West Georgia Technical College.
Dr. Patten continues her mission through oral health advocacy, student training, medical volunteerism and mentorship. Her contributions to public health dentistry have been featured on Fox News, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Gospel Radio and the School Based Health Alliance national website.
In addition to her busy public health roles, Dr. Patten has several civic and social affiliations. She is a member at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, serves on the boards of the American Association of Women Dentists, Thrivent for Lutherans, Elite Women of Excellence and Foundations Chair for Atlanta Chapter Jack and Jill Inc.
Dr. Patten has garnered local, state and national recognition for her programs in school based dental care. She continues to speak nationally, urging Congress to support oral health for the underserved…improving the world one smile at a time.
VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT
Keisha Tennyson Dudley, VP of Marketing and Development has over a decade of experience as a development professional in the nonprofit sector. She began her career with Alexander Haas, a nonprofit fundraising consulting firm in Atlanta. Prior to joining Whitefoord, she served as Donor Development Director with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Georgia Chapter and as Director of Development with All About Developmental Disabilities. Keisha has conducted development assessments, facilitated strategic planning sessions, led leadership retreats to educate nonprofit organizations on board roles and responsibilities, best practices, development of cultivation and solicitation strategies, and implementation of fundraising plans. Additionally, she has managed multi-million dollar fund development efforts, external communications, and volunteer initiatives for several other organizations.
Keisha is a member of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), where she currently serves on the Board of Directors as Vice President of External Affairs. She has also previously served in numerous other roles including Communications Chair, Membership Chair, Program Chair, and Chair of the 27th Annual National Philanthropy Day (NPD) celebration. As NPD Chair, Keisha founded the Atlanta AFP Chapter’s “Promoting Philanthropy in the Classrooms” volunteer service project.
She is a proud alum of L.E.A.D. Atlanta, a program of Leadership Atlanta for young professionals. In 2009, she was selected as a member of the Georgia Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Inaugural Leadership Class, where she later served on the Advisory Committee. Keisha is also an alum and graduate of the Marvin C. Goldstein Project Understanding Leadership Class and a former member of the Junior League of Atlanta, where she served as Chair of Individual Giving.
Keisha has volunteered her time with a number of causes she is passionate about including Our House, Piedmont Hospital, Georgia Center for Child Advocacy, Atlanta Nonprofit Professionals, and Atlanta Public Schools. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Brenau University and a Business Management degree from Macon State College.
