Whitefoord offers community-based healthcare and early education services that intersect to build strong families and resilient communities. By offering individuals and families access to affordable childcare and healthcare, Whitefoord’s programs promote economic mobility, academic success, and improved quality of life. In addition to our flagship facility, The Whitefoord Health Center, located in the Edgewood neighborhood of Southeast Atlanta, we operate school-based health clinics at Toomer Elementary, King Middle School, and Woodson Park Academy. Our early education program is located in the historic Whitefoord Elementary School building in Edgewood. In 2022, we served over 3,400 patients in our health centers and educated 101 children at the Whitefoord Early Learning Academy. When Ashley, a single mother, and her daughter relocated to Atlanta, Ashley was thrilled to discover the highly rated Pre-K program at Whitefoord Early Learning Academy, but when Ashley realized vaccine requirements were different for children in Georgia, she worried she wouldn’t be able to get her daughter enrolled in time for her to start work. WELA staff connected her to the team at the Whitefoord Health Center, conveniently located right across the street. Ashley was able to get her daughter a same-day appointment for a well-check and the required immunizations.
