Whitefoord’s founder Dr. George Brumley, MD opened the first school-based health clinic in Georgia. The school-based health model has been replicated throughout the state and is seen as key to mitigating the effects of childhood poverty as children who get their health needs met at school have better attendance, better grades, and higher graduation rates. Whitefoord operates school-based health clinics (SBHCs) in three metro Atlanta schools: King Middle School in Grant Park, KIPP Woodson Park Academy on Atlanta’s westside, and Fred B. Toomer Elementary in Kirkwood. If your child attends one of these schools, you can complete a consent form and then call 404-377-6614 to make an appointment for medical, dental, or behavioral health services.
